iamerican-insane software package provides American English dictionary for ispell (insane version), you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install iamerican-insane
iamerican-insane is installed in your system.
Make ensure the iamerican-insane package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep iamerican-insane *
You will get with iamerican-insane package name, version, architecture and description in a table
